Record of Grace

Each week we meet to Worship Our Real King. These services were recorded live...real live!

In 2011 we had two special international marriages and one Golden Anniversary this year at Grace. Check out the happy couples below.

Welcome to Jimmy & Lorna's Wedding

Kitale Kenya, April 17, 2011

As many of you know Lorna's Canadian Wedding on June18th was cancelled due to Jimmy's visa not forth coming from the Canadian Government. The good news is she and Jimmy had a full church wedding with Dad walking Lorna down the isle in Kenya on April 17, 2011. Some of you stayed up late to watch the event live while other's of you are scratching your heads 'bout now wondering why you didn't know about the big day.
The simple answer is that all of Jimmy's relatives could not be with us in Canada and everyone whom Lorna invited in Canada couldn't go to Kenya for the wedding. When we realized the significance for his side of the family to be present at the Wedding we decided to do two weddings.
Little did we know that the plans would change so radically. It was our intention to bring to the Canadian wedding the Kenyan wedding video as part of the ceremony. But alas we were robbed of that joy by the Canadian Government, or shall we say that God had other plans for my missionary minded daughter?
However, all is not lost, I took, or should I say my camera took a lot of video and a few pictures that day. I've edited down the 4 or soooo hour service to less than 1 for your viewing pleasure. This is the unofficial version...the professional much longer version has yet to show up at Jimmy's but we'll put it up at some point later in the year.
So grab a favourite drink and click on the following link to come to Kenya and see Lorna get married.

Irene & Ludger's Wedding.

Penticton, BC, Canada, Feb. 12th, 2011

Irene hales from Kenya and was at school in Kelowna, Global Ministry Training Centre where she met Lorna who was also in that class. They went on a mission to Kenya in April / May of 2010 and came back pumped to reach out the love of Christ both in Canada and Kenya.

God planted a big vision in little Irene. She had a piece of land that she inherited from her father in Kikuyu, Kenya and a desire to reach out to orphans as she herself was orphaned very young. The vision is becoming reality and God has seen fit to knit the vision into Grace MB Church as well. Read about JCM here: http://www.hopeforthenations.com/project/project.aspx?asset=272

Fast forward to winter of 2010.

Ludger and Irene while only meeting briefly in Kelowna reconnect in Vancouver as Irene is at Pacific Bible College. And by the end of the year they realize it's love for a lifetime that they are feeling. So wedding bells rang at Grace MB Church, in Penticton February 12th, 2011.

The folks of Grace once again lived up to their name with throwing Ludger and Irene a wedding and a banquet, hospitality grace at it's finest. Friends joined them from all over the world on our live broadcast of the event and some even flew in from Chicago and Seattle and other drove in from the lower mainland and Kelowna.
Pastor Edwin Agogo brought his church up from Surrey and he and Pastor Blake Wagner married the happy couple. It was a wonderful time of intercultural mixing for the congregation. And we began to see God was calling Grace into further ministry in Kenya. More on that later but here is the wedding ceremony.

This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.

Jeremiah 6:16 (NIV)

Remembering God's Grace towards us is a vital part of our faith. As we look back we see more clearly where God directed our path and especially when He carried us through some of those rough roads we all face.

Each year Pastor Blake composed a video looking at the events and people that shaped Grace. Each video follows a theme that was prominent for that particular year and is presented at the annual meeting to say, "Look what God's Grace has done".
